Southern Tradition Bloodstone Pinky ring Pre Civil War

This was a tradition in Virginia and other parts of the south. Upon the birth of a daughter a pinky ring was given. This beauty is size 3 with a heart shaped blood stone. It is set in silver but unmarked. Jewlery for the most part was not marked except for maybe a makers mark. It is probably coin silver. They fell out of favor after the Civil War and few survive today. ship included. see my other ads collectables and my books Amazon. J.P.Goodwin
