Apply at www.ccswv.org joinourteam.html The Direct Care Professional (DCP) will provide support to clients in our Adult Residential Services Program and or Employment Services Program. The DCP has hands-on responsibility for promoting and enhancing the development of each client enabling skill acquisition to occur and for assuring the overall health and safety of all clients. Essential Position Functions and Key Work Processes 1. Relate to customers in a continuous consistent warm caring age-appropriate manner. 2. Perform personal care activities with all customers as needed including but not limited to personal hygiene care brushing teeth brushing hair bathing showering toileting changing adult incontinence pads feeding (oral and gastric tube-if prescribed) dressing. 3. Perform other activities of daily living for adults. 4. Provide customer medication administration according to agency policy as ordered and assigned. Prescribed methods of administration may include but are not limited to oral ophthalmic nasal vaginal and anal. 5. Document the progress of each customer using approved data collection methods. 6. Respond appropriately to immediate or urgent or emergent customer needs such as injuries and illness and provide or obtain assistance as needed. 7. Monitor the activities of customers in order to assure the individual s health and safety is maintained. 8. Perform household cleaning and maintenance tasks including but not limited to sweeping mopping vacuuming dusting cleaning toilets sinks washing windows washing dishes washing folding laundry. 9. Facilitate and or perform meal planning and meal preparation in accordance with dietician orders. 10. Facilitate and or perform shopping and purchasing activities. 11. Assist in the planning of recreational entertainment activities and accompany customers during such activities. 12. Maintain accurate records of the expenditure of agency and customer funds. 13. Assure the customers environment meets or exceeds established standards for health and safety. 14. Participate in customer care plans. 15. Maintain confidentiality of all customer records and information. 16. Adhere to county and state regulations. 17. Document significant incidents and other customer related information on approved forms or in specified electronic locations. 18. Wear required personal protective equipment. 19. Report all injuries to the supervisor by the end of the shift on which they occur. 20. Report hazardous conditions or other safety and health concerns to the supervisor by the end of the shift on which they are observed. 21. Maintain a safe working environment and fully participate in emergency evacuation drills. 22. Use safe lifting techniques at all times. 23. Review and practice recommended health and safety procedures. 24. Assist in the orientation and training of other staff. 25. Attend and actively participate in agency and customer related meetings and during in-service training opportunities. 26. Perform other job related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements 1. Must be 18 years of age. 2. High School Diploma GED 3. Current certification in CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment 4. Have a valid current Oregon Driver s License 5. Be a driver and be able to drive company vans to transport customers this requires the ability to pass agency insurance requirements 6. Dependable personal transportation 7. Be able to lift up to 65 pounds for a total of up to 130 pounds in a two-person lift This position requires a pre-employment physical drug test and TB test.
