Boggs Hollow House of Prayer it is a tax-exempt not-for-profit food bank that is need of donations we serves Harlan County & Letcher County & some of Perry Kentucky. the Outreach goal is to alleviate hunger in Harlan Letcher and Perry Counties by soliciting collecting and packaging food for distribution through a Food Pantry program. Our services include food box program emergency food program and a youth night that provides opportunities for self-sufficiency activities for at risk youth. Approximately 30% of Harlan & Letcher & Perry Counties residents qualify for assistance from the outreach. Our client base is low-income people mainly families who need emergency help to put food on the table. Nearly half of those served by the program are children. Boggs Hollow outreach operates a facility where we store donated food for distribution. The program actively solicits food from local retailers wholesalers and processors. In addition Boggs hollow outreach collect food donations from restaurants. It is estimated that the number of children who need services from Boggs Hollow outreach will increase during the next year. Harlan & Letcher & Perry Counties the Needy are growing and a number of new families are Losing there employment. Boggs Hollow is an important resource because we can respond quickly with the one of the most important resources these families need. Food Our services improves the ability of families to care for children and achieve goals of self-sufficiency. Boggs Hollow Outreach services now are a small investment in comparison to cost of ignoring the problem of hunger in the counties and the influence it has on a number of health and crime issues. Every donation helps nourish families facing hunger in your communities. But there s still so much work to be done.
