Antique Hoosier Cabinet Made By Ideal Furniture Company Vincennes Indiana This Antique Hoosier cabinet is made of oak is has great form and function. It includes three cabinets above one housing the flour bin and hand crank sifter the top cabinets have glass panes that are frosted with designs. There is a large cabinet below with a cooling rack storage space and three drawers on the right with pull handles. The Hoosier cabinet features a porcelain working station and a pull out cutting board. It was made by the Ideal Company one of the top manufacturers in the group that made vintage Hoosier cabinets. It has a name plate with Ideal which was a Furniture Company from Vincennes Indiana from 1900-1940. An individual thinking outside the box suggested a great idea to utilize this Hoosier cabinet as a desk without modification this could easily be done. The top portion pulls out to add an overhang so there would be ample room for a chair and the cutting board would also lend itself to be a writing deck. There are also drawers shelves cupboards that offer much storage space and the flour bin could just stay in place hidden away. The wire racks could be removed and replaced with wood shelves or it could remain original and offer storage as well. This is a charming Hoosier cabinet they are highly sought after collectibles this one appears to be original and they are very user friendly. Condition Good for the age porcelain is good shape appears original flour bin intact and operational crack in upper section at hinge in front missing some wood on bottom of middle drawer on right side.
