A great opportunity to own an appreciating collectable SG. This guitar is in excellent condition for its age with just minor finish checking and a little buckle rash (worming) on the back. Nothing has gone through the finish though and there are no significant nicks or chips on the edges. Neck is solid and frets show only slight wear nicely bedded in. No cracks or repairs whatsoever Beautiful patina and a nice cherry finish. Untouched electrical original Pat Gibson humbuckers soldering untouched. One of the pots shows a 1969 date code so this is a very early 1970 Kalamazoo production guitar first year to have the Made in USA stamp on the rear headstock. In the interest of full disclosure this SG does have repro Kluson tuners and tremelo arm. Originals can be easily sourced on ebay to replace these. Guitar is priced accordingly. Photos are from the Chicago store website where I bought the SG in 2007 I also included a more recent photo. It has never left my home and I had it professionally set-up by a well repsected guitar tech in Port Credit. It will need new strings. The original rare gold velvet lined hardshell case is also in great condition with just some fading of the Gibson logo and tarnishing of the metalwork typical wear for it s age. All of the clasps work and the hinges and handle are solid. The case alone is worth in the high hundreds of . Sounds great through a Marshall 100W stack (see my other ad if your want that too)
