The Falcon 5K is a family friendly event with all profits being donated to The Lung Cancer Initiative of NC. The start finish line will be at the JO Humphries Falcon Town Park located on Brooks Street in Falcon NC. All pre-registrants are guaranteed an event T-shirt. There will be a limited quantity of shirts available for those who register on event day. The idea for this event started with two women Becky & Beth who had connections unknown to them when they met. They met when their daughters became friends in Kindergarten. Becky & Beth began to talk at the kid s events and found out that both had a parent suffering from lung cancer. Both women wanted to do something to help with research & awareness for lung cancer but didn t know exactly what at the time. Becky decided to participate in a Lung Cancer Initiative of NC 5K in Charlotte NC & invited Beth to join. It was a very emotional experience for both women.
