Responsibilities Joy Global acquired the Longview Texas facility in June of 2011 which had been previously known as LeTourneau Technologies. Our mining products business specializes in the design and manufacture of rugged mining duty wheel loaders feeder breakers and structural weldments. Our steel products business produces carbon and alloyed steel rolled to plate thicknesses between 1 and 10 inches. There are approximately 800 workers at the site. This position has potential relocation and sign-on Bonus Responsibilities Works safe & be an advocate for safety. Meets or exceeds expectations of all Job Global team members. Supports our organization s goals and values. Reads blueprints or job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions. Selects positions and secures tooling. Positions and secures work piece in holding device fixtures machine table chuck between centers or as required in order to complete machining operations. Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications. Prioritizes and plans work activities. Uses time efficiently and plan for additional resources when needed. Sets Goals and objectives developing realistic action plans. Reliably produces parts within tolerance levels per print specifications within capabilities of given machines with minimum supervision minimal scrap and within standard routing hours. Cleans and Maintains machine and area. Promptly reports issues to performance leader. Qualifications Be able to work 2nd shift overtime & weekends as required Be a team player Proficient in basic mechanical skills Blue print reading skills Read a tape measure micrometer and calipers Ability to write simple correspondence and accurately perform data entry documentation Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals Knowledge understanding of tooling terminology nomenclature Knowledge of standard functions of horizontal vertical mills and or lathes Set-up CNC machine and debug CNC programs for producing close tolerance parts while doing own set-up and layout work Able to write simple shop floor programs Minimum of 5 years in a machine shop environment Work Keys Assessment encouraged
