These boards are used by surf schools on both coasts as they are an excellent choice for beginners children adults or even experienced surfers looking for an inexpensive beater board for small to moderate surf conditions. The Hybrid composite core and water barrier skin deck coating makes for a resilient forgiving board that can take a beating on the way to the beach and at the beach and still provide years of surfing enjoyment. The board is nearly 3 thick can float riders up 200lbs and yet weighs only 16lbs. This is a beginner s package and includes everything you need to catch your first wave The board itself three durable removable fins fin mounting hardware with spares traction mat and leash. This package is offered at a fraction of the price of a board at the local surf shops and includes the traction mat leash and fin kit The board pictured is still in the original packaging which includes a clear cellophane wrap. The top of the board actually has a slight texture where as the bottom of the board is slick. In case you are unfamiliar with a soft board the board is made out of a high density closed cell foam product with additional layers laminated on the outside of the board much like a high end boogie board but bigger thicker and less flexible. The end product is firm but ever so slightly pliable. This makes for a product that is less likely to be damaged by rough use or transport in the way that a traditional rigid fiberglass board would be.
