Packaging Mechanic To provide technical support to production assembly machines and to other automation equipment ensuring compliance with internal procedures quality systems policies OSHA standards and FDA regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned) Maintenance and repair of the mechanical equipment such as motors gear boxes conveyors elevators hoppers vibratory bowls etc. by strictly adhering to all GMPs and SOPs. Responsible for aiding in meeting daily weekly monthly production requirements in accordance with company goals forecasts and objectives. Perform Line change over Set up Start up including vision system adjustments and data collection. Maintenance and repair of the electrical equipment such as servo motors proximity photoelectric and fiber optic sensors cameras pumps etc. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Support Manufacturing Engineering and Product Development departments with ongoing and new projects and their validations. Work independently with minimal supervision in a team oriented environment. Trouble-shoot problems and recommend solutions or improvements necessary to restore equipment operation efficiency. Complete production-related documentation as required. Maintain orderly and clean work areas during all operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE High School Degree Required Technical Trade School desired Equipment Troubleshooting Training preferred. 4 years experience in FDA Regulated Environment desired. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure Skills associated with equipment maintenance such as basic electrical knowledge measurements and tolerances gear ratios etc. TECHNICAL SKILLS Strong mechanical aptitude. The job requires a thorough working knowledge of Machine Shop equipment hand power tools basic electronic measuring equipment and blue print electrical schematic reading. Must have a technical mechanical background including mechanical repair working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems problem solving skills along with reading comprehension skills are also required. Experience with PLC (programmable logic control) Vision Systems is a plus. REASONING ABILITY The job requires the ability to make important decisions often quickly. The ability to multi-task is essential. Logical decision-making and long-term planning is required. CERTIFICATE LICENSES REGISTRATIONS Education documentation is required. Any other licenses or certifications are to be provided at the discretion of the candidate. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Position requires incumbent to be a team player. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office -- Outlook Word and Excel Understand GMPs SOPs Lock Out Tag Out and OSHA regulations.
