Construction Project Manager

The Construction Project Manager may initially be located in the San Antonio corporate office for a period of training prior to being assigned to a field project. A willingness to relocate is important. This position is a direct hire rather than contract or project based. The Construction Project Manager directs the company s construction activities as the senior on-site representative for large industrial construction projects in the power generation industry (gas coal biomass biofuel and solar) and or large process and petrochemical industries. The Construction Project Manager serves as a liaison between the client and home office and oversees delivery of safe timely and cost-effective completion of assigned projects. Candidate should have experience with managing major industrial construction projects in the stated industries. Regularly reviews and analyzes cost reports labor requirements purchasing activity and equipment needs ensuring that all materials work and associated costs are within the project scope and specifications. Ensures compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements while controlling costs and maintaining profitability for assigned projects. Oversees the development of project schedules conducts regular project inspections conducts safety meetings and coordinates with engineers inspectors and client owner representatives to isolate any problems and develop appropriate solutions. Directs the development of project schedules conducts regular progress reviews and oversees planning of future construction activity. Manages field construction maintenance engineering and other support activities and coordinates the work of subcontractors and ensures work with within scope and specifications. Determines the necessity of construction equipment and ensures proper maintenance. The Construction Project Manager will demonstrate a high level of functional and technical knowledge of construction crafts construction equipment and possess working knowledge of plant equipment technology project control tools in the review analysis and prioritization of project schedules scope contractual obligations and milestones. He she will have a solid understanding of project management project support structures and groups contract requirements and construction administration. The Construction Project Manager will be comfortable with budgeting and cost controls safety requirements and initiatives and have a practical hands-on knowledge of EPC processes and phases. Effective written and verbal skills are imperative for success in this position as the Construction Project Manager is the pivotal communication point for all stakeholders in the project. The ability to develop and maintain good relationships with clients team members and others is imperative as is the ability to foster collaboration influence outcomes and address conflict. The Construction Project Manager will exhibit sound decision making skills defining and researching issues in support of accurate decisions seeking collaboration with others in the process. He she will exercise good judgment and vigorously pursue the best resolution and course of action to address challenges.
