Preschool Lead Teacher

MKD Kids was founded in response to the founder s critical need for quality care. Seeking a provider program that offered the nurturing nature of a family child care environment and the structured educational and professional services of a commercial center MKD Kids was born. The MKD Kids Learning Center is a place where children come home to learn and grown by providing experiences for infants 6 weeks toddlers preschoolers and school aged care. We strive to do this by increasing developing their individual cognitive social emotional and physical needs. Every child s ability is enhanced through a daily schedule that seeks to provide the children with developmental opportunities in all we do. The lead teacher is responsible for Providing a safe nurturing and educational environment for the children enrolled in the class. At no time does the Teacher have the authority to make arrangements for or interfere in the operation of another class. Planning of daily activities and development of weekly plans for the children enrolled in the class. All activities planned will be developmentally appropriate for the age of the children enrolled based upon the Maryland State Department of Education recommended curriculum and approved by the Director. Meeting the individual needs of the children enrolled in the class. Individual planning will be based upon observations assessments and conferences with parents. Communicating with parents of the children enrolled in the class through daily conversation daily written report and conferences. All written communications must be approved by the Director. Maintaining effective working relationship with children parents and staff Minimum Qualifications 20 years of age. 90 hour Infant Toddler Certification (45 hour Child Growth and Development and 45 hour. Infant Toddler Methods and Materials). An Associates or Bachelor s degree in Early Childhood Education or enrollment in a degree seeking program is preferable. Current First Aid and CPR Certification for Infant Children and Adult or a willingness to obtain them within 1 year of employment. 1 or more years of experience working directly with children in an approved setting. Successful completion of FBI and State criminal background check. Current participation or willingness to participate in the Maryland Credential Program. Continued training yearly that satisfies the Office of Child Care Regulations and the Maryland Credential Program
