Current openings are in Northport. Ronkonkoma and Dix Hills. Per Diem opportunities that could lead into on-going full time hours. All Shifts available (7 -3 3-11 overnights). Direct Support Professionals will Primarily be focused on helping residents live life as independently as possible and achieve as many of their aspirations as possible. Helping the residents get ready for the day. Make meals for the resident and helping the resident eat and have his her medical needs fulfilled. Therefore must be detail oriented. Also responsible for helping the resident entertain the resident and participate in recreation. May also be responsible for cleaning the personal care of the resident. Act as a role model. Maintain and promote cooperative harmonious teamwork environment. Maintain and promote an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Ensure effective communication of priority information to all necessary staff and shifts. As a Direct Support Professional you must possess an excellent interpersonal skills and patience since they will sometimes be working with residents who have trouble regulating their emotions and one of their major roles will be to provide companionship for the client.
