" MOM" Exhibition by Local Photo-Artists

(at) MOM Exhibition by Local Photo-Artists September 12 2014 - January 4 2015 The ImageMakers (at) MOM is a new presentation of photographs of members of that renowned group whose members have exhibited at museums and galleries worldwide. This new exhibition will premiere at the Museum of Monterey at the Stanton Center 5 Custom House Plaza in Monterey on September 12th with a reception for the public from 5 00 to 7 00 p.m. and will run through January 4 2015. This is a wide-ranging show of the best work of the members of ImageMakers a diverse group of photo-artists started in 1996 by Richard Garrod. Garrod worked very closely in the past with Adams Weston Bullock and others and remains one of the premier photographers on the peninsula today. This show features a broad scope of photographic interests and images from pure abstract to landscapes and from portraiture to wildlife. Yet the common thread running through all these images is photography as art (as distinct from documentation. ) Examples of fine art by the ImageMakers may be seen at www.imagemakers.gallery. Some of the images in (at) MOM will appeal to you some perhaps not. But most certainly a few will give you pause and invoke a moment of reflection. After all that is what art is about.
