The Coordinator for Education and Undergraduate Programs in the University of Nevada School of Medicine Las Vegas (UNSOM) coordinates and implements undergraduate programs with the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and Nevada State College (NSC). These include recruitment events pipeline programs and other activities and programs related to UNSOM s science and medical career education programs the Las Vegas campus. The individual functions as the coordinator of the BS- MD program with UNLV and the Post-Baccalaureate Program at NSC. The position is also responsible for developing and implementing high school partnership activities. Other duties include coordination of community outreach programs for elementary middle and high school students as well as disseminating recruitment information via the website publications and communicating directly with advisors and undergraduate faculty at events on regional campuses. The position also coordinates applicant recruitment days for the medical school admissions process on the Las Vegas Campus. The successful applicant must demonstrate experience working effectively with diverse students and experience in providing provide culturally competent programs advising and support for students from a variety of diverse backgrounds. The position reports to the Director Student and Educational Affairs. Required Qualifications Bachelor s Degree and three years or a Master s Degree and two years or a Doctoral Degree and one year of experience in working with students in an educational and or research setting to include working with diverse and historically underrepresented groups.
