Looking for a way to explore international culture in your own living room Become a host parent for a foreign exchange student We are looking for couples both young and old single adults empty nesters and even couples without children We have available the following students and more Eric is a 16-year-old boy from Germany who loves trying out new things. In the past he has done indoor climbing hiking soccer basketball and is looking forward on his exchange to try out all kinds of activities that help him to get to know American culture. In his free time he likes to go to the gym listen to music especially Pink Floyd and read mystery novels and try to figure out who the bad guy is. He also loves going to the cinema. He his excited about meeting new people a new experience and becoming part of his host family and a whole different community. Eric s native language is German. He speaks good English and has studied the language for 6 years. He has also studied French for 5 years. His favorite subjects in school are English and after he graduates he would like to go to university. His teachers describe him as a very motivated responsible and reliable student who is open and interested in different cultures. Eric lives at home with his parents. He has no dietary restrictions but is moderately allergic against Amoxillin. He would not live with a family where members of the house smoke and is afraid of spiders and snakes. Carla is a girl from Germany who turns 15 this summer and loves doing track playing soccer making videos playing the piano scouting and spending time with her family and friends. She trains for track about three hours a week and regularly practices soccer on her school team. Carla takes part in scouting and also plays the piano once a week. Among all her hobbies she most enjoys taking pictures as well as creating and editing short videos with her friends. Carla is very family-oriented and cherishes family dinners movie nights and game nights. She also loves children and would be glad to live in a family with kids. Carla has many friends at school and enjoys hanging out shopping and going to the movies with them. She has good computer skills has helped prepare church services and likes playing computer games. Her interests include drawing painting reading (crime fantasy) sewing and surfing the internet. In the U.S. she would be happy to have the chance to explore new activities or pursue her existing interests. Carla is a creative sociable and warm-hearted young woman who is well-liked by her peers. She is agreeable willing to take on responsibility and eager to learn and experience new things. Carla s native language is German. She speaks good English and has studied the language for six years. Carla earns good grades at school and has also studied French (four years). Her favorite subjects at school include computer science art and PE. She is interested in working either in the IT industry or in fashion design in the future. Carla lives with both of her parents and her younger brother. Her mother is a goldsmith and her father works as a manager. Carla does not have any allergies or dietary restrictions. Jana is a girl from Germany who will turn 16 this summer and enjoys playing the piano reading writing taking part in school activities and spending time with family and friends. At school she serves as representative of her class and participates in the philosophy club and the production of a play performed for the graduation ceremony. After class Jana routinely goes to the gym and loves to take time to practice the piano and read young adult fiction (especially books by author John Green). She and her friends like to go to the movies study or cook together and have sleepovers. Jana loves the family-like bonds in her small hometown community and cherishes the trusting relationship and good communication she has with her parents and close friends. In the U.S. Jana would enjoy the chance to explore dancing and acting take part in sports and perform music. Her interests include jogging drawing painting and photography. Jana is a kind hard-working and committed young woman who is well-liked by her peers and teachers. She is considerate ambitious independent and eager to experience American culture by contributing to her host family and community. Jana s native language is German. She speaks good English and has studied the language for eight years. Last year Jana successfully participated in a short-term exchange to England where she lived with a host family. She earns very good grades at school and has also studied French (five years). Among Jana s favorite subjects are math German and history. In the future she is considering to study law and become a public prosecutor. Jana lives with her mother and father. She has no siblings. Both of her parents work in trade. Jana has a dog that she considers part of the family. She can live in a home with pets and does not have any allergies or dietary restrictions.
