Demonstrate ability to do heavy lifting from 50 to 75 pounds regularly.Job Goals To maintain the grounds of all district schools in a condition of safety neatness and aesthetic attractiveness so as to allow the students to learn.Essential Job Functions 1. Maintain and care for school grounds to include sewer drainage sprinkler systems lawns parking lots playgrounds fences and athletic facilities. 2. Unplugging sewer line. 3. Possess a Class A drivers license with ability to obtain a CDL license. 4. Tolerate extreme weather conditions. 5. Ability to read fine print and understand blue prints.Performance Responsibilities 1. Repair of items such as classroom equipment playground equipment athletic equipment as well as the fabrication of needed items. 2. Provide service to other district departments when requested to do so. 3. Concrete work. 4. Answer security calls if needed. 5. Installing playground equipment grading playground fertilizing fields painting and related items. 6. Snow removal. 7. Maintain yearly tool inventory.Tools and Equipment Welder painting equipment numerous power tools fork lift dump truck road grader back hoe front end loader street sweeper hand tools lawn mower snow plow and air compressor. All tools and equipment may not be listed.Salary Groundsman are a Grade 6 on the Classified Salary Schedule. - FFC8 allows new hires to bring in up to 8 years of previous experience in similar school type settings. - Please understand that new hires tend to start out at the lower end of the salary range.Salary ScheduleEmployment Period 261 days per year - 8 Hour Work Days
