PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS NURSE PRACTITIONERS FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEDICINE UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE RENO NV The Department of Family & Community Medicine Reno is recruiting for two Physician Assistants (PA) Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP). These PA ANPs perform the duties of a Nurse Practitioner at the Patient Centered Medical Home and Family Medicine Center. The clinical practice is part of the University Health Systems (UHS) the clinical practice of the University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM). Under the supervision of a physician(s) the positions perform duties such as conducting gynecological exams performing annual physicals diagnosing and treating illnesses ordering and interpreting tests prescribing medications performing medical procedures coordinating care for all patients under the auspices of a medical home and providing patient education. These positions assist in organizing and communicating care required for all patients of the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). REQUIREMENTS Master s Degree from a regionally accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and successful completion of the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification examination and three years of experience or a Doctoral Degree and one year of experience as a Women s Health or Gynecology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a clinical setting. Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner Certification Current Advanced Practitioner of Nursing (APN) Board of Pharmacy License and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License are required. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada Nursing or Medical License malpractice insurance and must be able to be successfully credentialed by Northern Nevada teaching hospitals.
