This individual will work cross-functionally to improve process quality and productivity as well as implement lean manufacturing initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES Engineer improvements for process setups material handling storage layouts work cells and any other functions that directly impact department performance Drive as well as participate in lean initiatives including CIAs quick die change 5S standardized work lubricant reduction ergonomics SPM uptime and error proofing Utilize engineering principles and tools to calculate and evaluate alternative tooling manufacturing processes and or equipment Actively participate in tooling changeovers with technicians to understand the process and develop improvement techniques Analyzes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) Works with Quality Assurance to ensure all quality aspects of product design and manufacturing are met by applying manufacturing engineering principles Review participate in the actual packing of product within the manufacturing environment to implement leaner methods such as pack at the press pack into customer totes in secondary and stamping operations and pack at wash operation Use CMM data and statistical analysis to establish effective process controls to drive improvements to and promote process capability of processes and tools Accurately calculate and submit cost reductions and cost avoidances using approved guidelines to meet or exceed annual goals Consistently adhere to and support company policies and procedures including ISO TS 16949 and safety regulations QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree in engineering required Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Experience with project management and the ability to drive projects to completion Continuous improvement and or lean manufacturing experience required AutoCAD experience required Experience implementing problem-solving tools such as 8D and 5Why preferred Metal forming experience preferred MANAGEMENT BUSINESS SOLUTIONS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
