Production Supervisor Drapery WorkroomCustom Drapery Workroom in Altamonte Springs (North Orlando) Florida is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor.Must be very experienced in cutting sewing and finishing of all styles of window treatments such as Draperies (Pinch Pleat Box Pleat Rod Pocket Grommet and Ripplefold) Valances Romans (Operable and Stationary) Swags Cornices Bedding (Pillows Dust Ruffles Coverlets Shams and Boxed Cushions) Must be experienced working with industrial sewing machines such as Blindstitch Serger Single Needle Tacker Pleater The Production Supervisor will be working hands on 60-70% of the time in the workroom fabricating production items. Additional tasks include supervising the work flow and seamstresses trouble shooting and assisting as needed and acting as the liaison between the office and the workroom. The candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager in scheduling requirements and deadlines training of production staff and maintaining productivity and efficiency in the workroom. Additionally the Operations Manager and Production Supervisor will look for new ways or methods to continue to improve issues in the workroom which results in a higher level of productivity.The ideal candidate will need to supervise others from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. The candidate must be able to read write and communicate very well in English.The perfect candidate must have attention to detail and be productivity minded. Must know how to calculate cuts correctly. Must be an expert at using a tape measure and reading it to 1 8 . Must be able to lift bolts of fabric regularly 15-20 pounds occasionally lift 40 pounds and have the ability to stand for long periods of time.Please do not apply for this position if you do not have at least 3-5 years of experience in a professional drapery workroom and have very good sewing and fabrication skills. The candidate must have good interpersonal skills working with diverse personalities in a team setting.Work Hours are Monday Thursday 6 00 am 4 30 pm with some overtime on Fridays.Benefits include Holiday pay Vacation pay Personal time pay Health Dental and Supplemental Insurance.This is an hourly position. Compensation is based on experience.
