Beginner to Advanced Guitar Lessons

Hi my name is Steve Moore. I ve been playing guitar for over thirty years. In the beginning rock and roll interested me most but over the years blues and jazz have become my main interests. Over the last thirty or so years teaching friends and fellow musicians to play guitar has always been my greatest passion. Finding people that were interested in learning the way around a guitars fret board has been more thrilling than being on stage performing for others To share my knowledge of guitar with others is and always will be the most rewarding accomplishment I can contribute to society. Now I am offering private guitar lessons for beginners to advanced players of any age gender or skill level. Step one would be a basic assessment of the student s skill level of the instrument. Those students that are staring for their first time and have no knowledge of the instrument would need no assessment of skill level. We would begin with the basic fundamentals of the instrument the names of the parts that embody the guitar. Which include the names of the strings tuning keys head stock etc. Then we move on to the fun stuff. Beginners need to be captivated and challenged not bored. We start with the basic open chords which will enable a novice player to start having fun strumming the instrument and discovering the beautiful sounds the guitar can make with a little bit of practice Then we move on to the pentatonic scale and how it relates to the chords they have learned. It s known to most guitar players as the caged sequence. Barr chords follow soon after. Once these concepts start to develop the student can start learning songs and probably start creating some of their own Playing an instrument fluently requires a sense of timing. These issues are covered when the student has reached a certain skill level. Rhythm and timing go hand and hand. When students are ready more complex chords and scales will be introduced. The sky s the limit For those folks that have been playing guitar for a while and feel like there in a rut I can help. There is nothing like fresh material to challenge an intermediate guitar player forcing them out of the rut. If you or your child or someone you know is interested in serious guitar lessons please give me a call at (816) 456-1490. Step two Is for the more advanced players. Only by assessing the students ability can we establish the path that we will pursue together to strengthen the students personal goals as a musician.
