or sale is a very rare and desirable 1949 Indian Scout. This Indian was partially restored in the early 1990 s and was otherwise a very good original motorcycle. With a new engine launched in that year the new 440 Vertical twin was a new and very modern engine for the Indian company. This machine has been very well cared for over the years and is very much a very good surviving example. It has not covered many miles in the last 15 years or so and will need to be freshened. It does run and ride well and does generate a lot of attention. It has a few crankcase leaks that will need to be addressed as well. It does come with some original and period literature also.. s Good complete running Indians are getting harder and harder to find and the prices are continuing to climb as the new Indians are regenerating huge interest so dont miss out
