The resitve brain

The rest-seeking brain or... the Suckling Mind or... Shut-the f--k-up and play the music As one whose brain is a prowling beast over the its cognitive terrain I work-it until I reach that point of fatigue where there is no discipline to control it and it wanders into the reverie of its associative fatigue. At this point I hear the murmuring of voices of memories or other dimensions and all the brain wants to do is shut down for rest. THEN there are those times when the brain is awake enough for basic monitoring of my voluntary physiological functions and the basic mechanical manipulation of my appendages but it is not tired enough to get to sleep. It has enough energy to prowl and seek casual streams of moods or notions but not enough energy to do anything else about it. At this point I have found the low decibel music that can barely be heard and would be similar to those murmuring voices of my fatigue feeds does it. The brain now has its sensory pablum so that it is preoccupied enough to bring it to a gentle fatigue which slips into sleep. The human voice unlike music has varying unmelodic tones and amplitudes for each word in a sentence. Unless the person talking has a low-pitch soft-near-monotoned voice then hearing them-even in muffled effects-would be aesthetically distractive for my brain since the pattern of the tonations and their content would keep my brain agitated seeking to comprehend it. (Explaining the part of the title Shut-the f--k-up and play the music ) The brain aka the mind when it has no particular temporal or secular activity to attend to for us will prowl and scour its cognitive frontiers of memories and their associative partners to keep it busy until fatigue finally overtakes its natural ennui with the static cognitive environment. It is in this undomesticated state that the nature of habits in which we have trained the mind takes over. If our predominate habit is for new data to analyze and categorize then such will be the character of the mind s activity. If our habits are to seek the analgesic (discomfort or pain relief) then the mind could spur excessive physical activity to provide for that compensation. It is here that I find myself tapping out these words on this topic. Or someone enjoying their favorite music or TV show or web videos or OTHER websites to provide their mind with its pablum to give it its ultimate rest of temporary unconsciousness.
