UNIX Administrator - TSSCI FSP

The Unix Administrator is responsible for Unix (e.g. Sun F15000 and smaller) or Linux environments operating in either cloud-based or data center environments. This includes responsibility for the operating system software any of its necessary components as well as any relevant software planks or add-ons needed for successful integration with the hardware network and application software used in major computing systems across the organization.Mandatory Skills 1) Demonstrated experience planning testing installing and integrating new and upgraded versions of the relevant Unix Linux operating systems on organizational computer systems along with all third-party software components and subsystems necessary. 2) Minimum of six (6) years demonstrated Unix Linux experience 3) Demonstrated experience with a computer scripting language like Perl as well as relevant hardware job control languages 4 ) Demonstrated experience with Data Center and or Cloud Server Farms and their mission-critical operating techniques 5) Demonstrated experience with the CLSE operating environment or equivalent. 6) Demonstrated experience following organizational standards for operating configurations security constraints and procedures for managing hardware software and networking systems 7) Demonstrated experience with open source products and tools such as Ant JUnit Apache Tomcat and MySQL 8) Demonstrated experience with PKI technology and ability to manage server and or application certificates 9) Demonstrated experience create and execute useful shell scripts Desired Skills 1) Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Management Information Systems or a related degree program or work-related experience that has provided equivalent knowledge 2) Demonstrated ability to adjust to changing customer and work priorities 3) Ability to explain technical issues clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences 4) Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP IP DNS VLANs 5) Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (SANS) 6) Familiarity with software configuration management tools such as SVN 7) Familiarity with software integration tools such as CruiseControl 8) Experience with successful full life-cycle software development projects
