Material Handler-Montgomery AL A Talascend client in Montgomery AL has an immediate need for a Material Handler. This is a CONTRACT to DIRECT opportunity QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent 1 2 years previous experience operating an extreme heavy-duty forklift overhead cranes and hand trucks. Able to obtain valid lift truck license. Able to lift-up to 40 lbs. (with assistance) Experience with heavy materials a must Experience handling steel plate and large materials preferred Operate and move heavy rail bound equipment on occasion. Able to read shop orders packing lists and any other written communication. Experience with shipping systems a plus. Prefer candidates with previous experience working in a continuous improvement culture of Lean manufacturing and 5S. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems ISO 9001. Candidates for this role must have heavy forklift and overhead crane experience. The size requirement to qualify as heavy duty is lifting items of at least 1-3 tons Prefer candidates with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment of Safety Quality On Time Delivery and Cost where everyone is valued and is encouraged to contribute to improve products process and the business. Must be able and have a willingness to work safe. Duties & TasksThis position will be in a Fabrication Shop. The successful candidate will move raw material along with in process parts to the needed location in addition to loading and unloading trucks.
