PetSmart Distribution Center Associate - Full Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to 1. Performs tasks and assignments as set by department managers and supervisors which may include but are not limited to unloading checking in and putting away product moving and replenishing product in the distribution center picking orders wrapping pallets and loading trucks and the performance audits and cycle counting. 2. Able to drive motor equipment to include stand up forklift dock stocker and electric pallet jacks. While driving motor equipment must follow and be in compliance with distribution center safe driving standards. 3. Must be able to work with the existing warehouse systems and equipment which includes but is not limited to Vo-collect (receiving work instructions in English via a computerized voice on a headset) radio frequency guns and truck mounts and computer terminals. 4. Works independently or with minimal direct supervision on given assignments works safely accurately and productively. Follows all Petsmart policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate handbook and the policies and procedures of the facility. 5. Performs daily work assignments at an acceptable performance level (according to performance guidelines for department). 6. Communicates effectively with other associates and management asks for help (or provides help) when needed. 7. Keeps work area clean maintains a safe working environment and works in a safe manner. 8. Additional duties may be performed depending on the needs of the business. Associates may be asked to work in any department on any given day. Education and or Experience This is an entry level position. GED or high school diploma preferred. One to three years work experience in a warehouse position preferred. Technical Skills None Required. Certificates Licenses Registrations None Required. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly required to stand walk and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The associate is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The associate must frequently lift and or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and peripheral vision. The associate may be required to work at heights of up to thirty-four feet. The associate must be able to work up to twelve hour shifts. Associate must be able to continuously stand for up to twelve hours. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment. The associate is occasionally exposed to high precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The associate is exposed to extreme work temperatures including hot and cold. The distribution center may contain some hazardous materials i.e. cleaning supplies shampoos battery acid etc. The work environment can be dusty. If working in a Fish DC the associate will be exposed to a damp and humid environment with frequent exposure to water and aquatic animals.
