Aerospace manufacturing company seeks Saw Operator for the 3rd shift.Sets up and operates metal band saw machines to cut metal stock to dimensions with constant supervision by performing the following duties.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In performing functions duties or tasks employees are required to know and follow safe work practices and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety including safety rules and regulations. All functions duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest ethical and professional manner and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures.Constant ongoing training to achieve the requirements of the job including Reading job traveler and cutting ticket to verify work order specific instructions including Material type (alloy) Starting material size (Cut from size) Heat identity and number of bars (per heat when necessary) to be cut Final cut dimensions including tolerance and final piece count to be cut (per heat when necessary) Finding transporting loading and unloading stock to machine by forklift.Installing saw blade and sets blade tension and cutting speed for specified operation.Setting stops and guides and saw computer controls to control dimension of cut positioning and securing stock against stops or in feeding device using straps or chains turning valve to start flow of coolant against cutting area starting machine and observing operation.Measuring work for conformance to specifications.Maintaining Marking pertinent identity (Work order and Heat ) on all parent material and cutting output. May be done using paint pen steel stamping or dot peen.Organizing completed work on pallets or carts and delivering to next work station as required.Replacing defective cutting blade.Preparing data sheets of cut material and remnants.Participate in productivity improvement projects as required.
