United Way of Thurston County In Olympia Washington is recruiting for a Director of Development. Olympia is an engaged community with a lovely downtown artistically inclined and affordable housing. We are an hour or so away from Seattle the beach Mt. Rainier and the Olympic National Parks. This fulltime exempt position reports to the Executive Director and the hours of work are Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends. The Director of Development s primary purpose is to inspire community engagement in philanthropy. This position is responsible for leading maintaining and generating the growth of financial resources for United Way to help children achieve their full potential promote financial stability for families and individuals and improve health and safe living conditions. This position provides leadership through fundraising strategies and activities including workplace campaigns leadership giving special events sponsorships endowment and planned giving. The ideal candidate will be strategic and entrepreneurial with excellent public speaking abilities ability to develop strong relationships in the community and a desire to grow the resources of United Way.
