Hospice Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to visit and provide companionship to our Seniors and Terminally Ill patients. A select group of our volunteers are also trained in mediation so they can assist patients with learning mediation skills to help the patients with pain management. As a hospice volunteer you have the privilege of serving patients and their families at a very difficult time. Many patients find it helpful to talk about their lives with an objective listener. They feel free to discuss events and issues with a volunteer that it may be difficult to share with their relatives or health providers. In addition to visiting with patients your presence as a volunteer also gives family members the opportunity for a much-needed break. The kinds of activities a volunteer might do include -Light housekeeping (dishes laundry meal preparation)-Running errands-Letter writing-Sharing hobbies or special interestsWe offer our volunteers -Mileage Reimbursement -Rewarding WorkEach potential volunteer must -Provide proof of Insurance and CA drivers license-Undergo a Physical Exam TB test Drug Screening and Background CheckWe are looking for a minimum commitment of 1 visit per week.Thank you Please reply to this ad to receive an application.
