MUSIC MINISTRY TEACHER Contemporary Christian Arts is a Christian non-profit organization that provides vocational studies in the art field such as music ministry. We are set to open our doors to students from different congregations and church organizations covering the areas from Everett to Tacoma on August 30th 2014. We are in need of five teachers at the moment specialized in the following instruments piano drums bass guitar and voice. ORGANIZATION CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN ARTS JOB CATEGORY TEACHER EDUCATOR JOB STATUS PART TIME EMPLOYEE START DATE AUGUST 30TH 2014 LOCATION 22460 24th Ave S Des Moines WA 98198 HOURS SATURDAYS 7AM TO 4PM SALARY starting pay 25-35 per hour JOB DESCRIPTION Each teacher will participate in the morning meetings student and curriculum evaluations and staff fellowship. Teachers will educate using the school provided curriculum and materials on the instrument of their specialty along with leadership and ministerial classes. Teachers will need to be available Saturdays from 7am to 4pm and possible school related events which will be known with anticipation. Each teacher will also participate in the school s devotional hour with set up take down instrumentation and teaching(giving a thought) on occasion. We expect every teacher to continuously seek a professional and welcoming connection with all students as the essential image of the school. Teachers should be passionate about serving God and their community and dedicated to the school s vision and growth. (More information will be provided at the job interview.) DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS -Available Saturdays for school hours and possible school related events -Teaching instrument of specialty using school material and personal experience -Participating in school devotionals with set up take down instrumentation speaking (on occasion) -Setting preparing and correcting assignments homework exams quizzes -Providing the school with each individual student s educational progress on instrument curriculum and participation -Becoming an unofficial mentor by encouraging students and motivating them to continue REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS -Minimum of 3 years of musical studies -25 years and older -Christian faith great testimony -Capable of teaching individuals and groups -Capable of performing by ear AND sight reading -Professional yet charismatic personality with the ability to befriend his her students -Punctuality -Organizational skills -Fluent in English DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS -Ministry experience -Able to play multiple instruments in a professional level -Bilingual or ability to speak other languages -Not biased towards ethnicities cultures backgrounds languages skin color doctrines and denominations -Willing to go through a background check -Computer literate Microsoft Office CONTACT INFORMATION Please send your resume and cover letter to contact(at)contemporarychristianarts.com or call 206.778.2635 for any questions regarding the position.
