Freight Broker A Transportation broker is skilled at negotiating pricing and coordinate large and small shipments that our inside sales team secure from small and large businesses around North America. Contacting new carriers that meet our safety and service standards forming relationships to use on future shipping needs is important in this role. This opportunity integrates sales business development and brokering freight the capacity managers work with the sales team customers drivers dispatchers having excellent verbal and written communication multi-tasking and using software programs to negotiate freight pricing and track loads is key. This is a fast paced interactive and sales oriented role. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Secures third party capacity for all loads within their designated mode of transportation. Handles extensive rate negotiation on a daily basis. Networks with internal Sales Associates on matching capacity with available loads. Monitors daily progress of our third party carriers. Obtains timely updates from the carriers to ensure our loads are in the proper status. Monitors and updates third party insurance requirements. Obtains billing information from third party capacity to ensure we properly bill our customers. Sources new carriers to add to our carrier base. Ensures the carrier has proper operating authority and insurance as well as understands the carriers freight needs.
