Position Title Teen Director Position Type Full Time -40 hrs week hourly POSITION SUMMARY The Teen Program Director has the primary responsibility for the overall organization administration development supervision and implementation of the Y s teen programs. Additional responsibilities include supervision of the Teen Program Leader and other hourly support staff while providing direct leadership to these programs as assigned. Ensure all programming supports the Y s three main focus areas Youth Development Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES 1. Ensure that programs meet expectations for related grant and funding requirements by providing the necessary information and statistics for reports. 2. Plan develop implement and evaluate all YMCA Teen programs which should include but are not limited to Y Achievers safety and social networking educational support leadership programming and professional development. 3. Provide direct leadership to all teen programs. 4. Insure highest program quality through careful program supervision. 5. Market all Teen Programs to the schools community agencies and other youth serving organizations. 6. Serve as a liaison in partnership with the Branch Executive to local School community and Law Enforcement Officials and conduct regular meetings with these groups regarding teen programs. 7. Establish and maintain relationships with local middle and high schools in the service area to help recruit teens provide collaboration and meet the needs of each individual community. 8. Work as part of the management team of YMCA to coordinate service delivery and ensure a youth teen friendly and safe environment is present always. 9. Employ supervise schedule and evaluate all Teen staff and volunteers as assigned. 10. Provide training and leadership to all Teen staff and volunteers in procedures policies philosophies and character development of the YMCA. 11. Serve on one community based committee to ensure the YMCA is viewed as a leader serving teens. 12. Complete and be held accountable for Branch department budget as assigned which includes maintaining expenditures within the established budget guidelines. Complete all budget reports projections statistics and drafts in a timely fashion. 13. Meet or exceed any director required deadlines such as payroll new hire packets evaluations 14. Assist the Branch Business Manager with Accounts Receivable collections and adjustments. 15. Attend and actively participate in YMCA special events and fund raisers. 16. Uphold the YMCA of Greater Boston Policies and Procedures regarding Teen Dances and Events. 17. Maintain all program equipment in an appropriate manner. 18. Attend any branch required meetings and represent the home branch at the Association Teen Meetings and committees. 19. Remain current in required an Position Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Four year college degree in a related field is preferred. Y of the USA Team Leader Certified is preferred Experience in the administration of Teen programs. Additional experience in the areas of teen development and collaborations is required. The employee in this position should possess certifications in First Aid and CPR within the first 30 days. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES KNOW HOW Must possess excellent skills in program development staff supervision and quality standards. Must possess a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills have a concern for detail and accuracy. Must have the ability to delegate responsibility. Must be highly motivated and possess a positive attitude towards the YMCA programs focus areas and our mission. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Weekend and evening work is expected. Teen Program Director must work the off days of the Teen Program Leader based on the branch need. REQUIRED TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS Child Abuse Prevention Respect in the Workplace CPR First Aid Drivers License Preferred 7D license if driving the van (within 90 days of employment if applicable) Others to be determined EFFECT ON END RESULTS The teen program will serve a minimum of 15 teens on a daily basis. The teen membership base at the branch will increase annually by 20%. The branch will host a minimum of 3 events quarterly. The branch will duplicate at least one replicable teen program offering in the association annually. The branch will be compliant with the association expectations around program delivery.
