2003 Indian Blackhawk

2003 Indian Chief Blackhawk Motorcycle - The Indian Chief PowerPlus v-twin 100 cubic inch motor was a limited edition. When originally manufactured it had a serious flaw which caused the Indian Motorcycle company to declare bankruptcy. The oil pump and oil passages were delivering aerated foam to the top end and often within 2 000-3 000 mis a piston would come apart taking out the motor. That is what happened to this bike in 2003. Fortunately I found Frank Aliano Blackhawk Motors who was working with Indian to solve this problem before Indian went out of business. At the time Indian went broke (they did not have enough funds to recall and repair the 3 000 faulty motors) they left Frank with a complete supply of original parts to rebuild and repair any damaged motor.
