New Veterans Home opening March 2014

Brought to you by Hand Up Homes an Earth Angels affiliate Converting this old dump into a home to house veterans that would be homeless otherwise. This is not a government program. This is a veteran whom has herself been homeless with children and if it weren t from the grace of a few angels strategically placed in her life may well have to this day been homeless. It is in thanking these Earth Angels that I dedicate this home to those in Detroit whom have served their country and now have no place to call home. I will begin renovations on this home last week of this month March 1 at the latest. I am looking to house 6-10 veterans (depending on how many beds we can comfortably fit). They will receive 3 months of free rent in exchange for helping to restore the home and build a green house and vegetable garden. At the end of 3 month s the rent will be 50 wk or 200 for the month. All proceeds are put into funding the homes operations to include laundry facility garden toiletries and etc. It is my goal to create a sustainable military barrack style housing for veterans to transition into permanent housing. I am well aware of the difficulty of cutting through governments red tape I therefore have choosen not to seek any such funds. This entire operation is from the sweat and braun of the individuals being housed and generous community members who donate and volunteer to help in this worthy cause.
