St. Johann im Pongau Salzburg Austria Alpenland is set in one of Austria s prime ski areas 30 miles (49 kilometers) south of The Festival City of Salzburg. The full-service resort offers four restaurants a nightclub shops an indoor swimming pool saunas whirlpools a solarium and exercise room right on-site. Surrounded by mountains and meadows Alpenland located in the heart of St. Johann is a year-round holiday destination with skiing hiking and climbing. Vacationers may take advantage of tours to castles picturesque churches and nearby ice caves. Munich Vienna and even Milan are all accessible by car or train. My husband our 17year old son and I stayed here mid June during a trip through Germany and Austria. The customer service was wonderful as was the cleaning maid service. The Italian restaurant in the lobby area had the best gnocchi...I have tried to re-create it...no luck The room was a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. We loved the wood paneling Wi-Fi did cost in the room but very well worth it as we were able to connect with our family and friends back in the US during that week. Parking was an additional cost if you were parking under the resort and was worth every Euro after coming home from a long day of seeing the sights. We were able to wash clothes before moving to the next leg of our trip. It was expensive to do this and the washer dryer were nothing like ours here at home but it did the trick and we were good to go for another week and a half. We would definitely stay here again but ask for a room facing the rear of the resort as our room this trip was facing the shopping mall. It got a bit noisy at 5AM with deliveries.
