It had been stated that the transformer was aboard a railcar and the railcar bumped into another railcar during maneuvering procedures at the railhead. And as you can imagine due to the severely heavy weight of the transformer the shock or vibration caused by bumping into another railcar was severe and as a result the internal components was negatively affected.The unit was considered a Constructive Total Loss since the unit had to be sent back to Korea for repairs and the costs of repairing the unit would exceed the value of the transformer itself (repairs in US not feasible since there were no facilities capable of performing the repairs and most of the able facilities were competitors).
