A growing biotech company located in Montgomery County MD is currently seeking a hands-on roll your sleeves up experienced Controller. The position requires significant interaction with all departmental management throughout including external auditors and interacting closely with the CFO and Executive team. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES Manage train and cross-train appropriate financial staff to ensure accounting records and financial reporting is prompt accurate and meets business requirements. Maintain accounting department s financial reporting system. Completion of monthly financial accounting close. Coordinate the annual financial audit ensuring that all client prepared schedules are completed timely and accurately. Prepare the annual incurred cost submission and forward rate pricing proposal Prepare review and analyze Consolidated P& L Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports for internal management. Prepare monthly department expense packets for department managers for review and analysis. Assist in preparation review and consolidation of annual and monthly budgets for the P& L include sales cost of goods and operating expenses. Includes reports for internal management. Manage the reconciliation and research of all functions associated to the GL (discrepancies subsidiary ledgers related adjusted journal entries labor distribution reports AR Aging unbilled AR accounts). Review quarterly 941s. Supervise and review the monthly government billings and vouchering process. Develop supporting schedules for the financial reports through report writer. Maintain appropriate records for areas of responsibility. Complete additional projects as assigned KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance MBA preferred CPA designation obtained Minimum 7-10 years experience in all aspects of accounting and reporting Experience in a government contracting subcontracting environment desired biotech industry a plus DCAA Audit experience Working knowledge of Federal and Government procurement processes pricing cost analysis is imperative to be successful in this position. Proficiency using automated spreadsheets and MS Office Suite Up-to-date knowledge of current financial and accounting systems applications (JAMIS and or Deltek financial systems experience a plus) 5 years of proven Staff Management and supervisory experience required Strong and effective interpersonal skills (both written and oral and presentation) ability to work at the highest level of confidentiality with a high degree of accuracy. Analytical problem solving ability to identify analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner. Planning organizing prioritize and plan work activities uses time efficiently and develop realistic action plans. Task and Team-oriented analytical organized detail-oriented self-motivated and ability to multi-task is essential Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
