Nancy Zarbock is a native to New Jersey and a resident of Hunterdon County. Nancy has a public exhibit Majolica and Painted Stoneware at the North County Branch Library Clinton NJ during the month of December 2013. Included are selections from her private collection of bowls platters vases ewers and other interpretations. Upon completion of her Master s Degree in Business Management from Stevens Institute of Technology Hoboken NJ she enrolled in a ceramics class at Raritan Valley Community College Branchburg NJ. Nancy has been working in clay for over 20 years. In addition to her tutorage with Ann Tsubota at RVCC Nancy has attended many ceramic workshops from professionals such as Bennet Bean Linda Arbuckle Bruce Dehnert Russell Fouts Audrey Jones Woody Hughes and Posey Bacopoulos. In addition to ceramics Nancy is explores the worlds or acrylic painting sculpting drawing and jewelry design. I sketch directly on the bisque and paint as if I was approaching a blank canvas. My subject matter is inspired by nature and everyday objects. Majolica Pottery is slab built from redware clay glazed painted and fired to 2100F. My work is influenced by contemporary abstract expressionist painters such as Joan Mitchell Kandinsky De Kooning Gorky Mark Rothko Pollock and Picasso.
