Maintenance Technician

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for maintenance and repair of plant and equipment as follows a. Must be safety-conscious following OSHA TOSHA guidelines using required personal protective equipment such as face shields cut resistant gloves goggles masks etc. and following all safety programs such as lockout tagout hot work permits safe lifting practices HAZCOM etc. 2. Must be able to troubleshoot machines and equipment as follows a. Must be able to read and interpret electrical prints hydraulic prints mechanical drawings parts lists ladder logic (PLC) use multimeters and various guages to determine failed components. 3. Conduct preventative maintenance on machines and equipment such as changing filters adding lubricants cleaning following schedules etc. 4. Perform welding cutting and brazing (stick and mig) 5. Install and repair electrical systems as follows a. Solid understanding of NEC codes for electrial installation and repair b. Troubleshoot repair or replace sensors relays times temperature controls nozzle bands heater bands thermocouples etc. 6. Install and repair plumbing including PVC and iron pipe 7. Install and repair hydraulic components as follows a. Replace seals various equipment repair leaks remove and replace pumps valves cylinders etc. 8. Install and repair pneumatic components including valves actuators vacuum components etc. 9. Perform mechanical repairs using manufacturers prints diagrams etc. 10. Uses various hand tools power tools and equipment 11. Must climb ladders scaffolding platforms aerial lifts etc as needed 12. Maintains inventory of components and supplies needed for job communicates shortages to manager 13. Must support and maintain housekeeping efforts 14. Must follow work instructions per TS16949 ISO 14001 etc. 15. Any additional duties as assigned by supervision TECHNICAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 1. Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing plant maintenance with completion of industrial maintenance education program required OR minimum of 5-7 years verifiable maintenance experience in injection molding environment with demonstrated technical ability 2. Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic prints manufacturers diagrams etc. 3. Must be able to use various hand tools power tools and equipment (must possess own basic tools toolbox) 4. Must be able to use basic machines such as lathes mills drill presses welder grinder etc. 5. Must be able to work in safe manner with or without supervision either working alone or in team environment and at times must take proper steps to insure the safety of others 6. Must be self-starter and able to multi-task 7. Must be able to read write perform basic mathematics 8. Must be able to communicate both orally and in written form 9. Must interface with various personalities at all levels and communicate as needed 10. Forklift operation experience required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Must maintain regular and predictable attendance including frequent overtime call-backs or various shift hours 2. Must be able to climb ladders stairs scaffolding etc. using feet legs hands and arms 3. Must be able to balance when walking standing crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces 4. Must be able to stoop and bend (requires use of lower extremities) 5. Must be able to kneel crawl and crouch using hands arms and knees 6. Must be able to use fingers hands and arms to reach push pull feel grasp pick pinch and write 7. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with wrists hands arms and fingers 8. Must be able to speak and hear 9. Must be able to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force rarely and or in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally and or in excess of 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects 10. Must have visual accuity to operate various machines power tools and equipment distinguish color etc. 11. May be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions 12. May be subject to noise and vibration 13. May be exposed to various cleaners oils fumes odors dusts mists gases or poor ventilation 14. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts moving vehicles electrical currents small spaces or heights
