Disability Network of Mid-Michigan (DNMM) is hiring an individual to work part-time (15 hours per week) as a Representative Payee (RP). The RP is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Social Security Administration s Representative Payee Program for DNMM consumers. The primary job functions of this position are Assisting consumers in determining their needs for day-to-day living (food clothing housing etc.) best use of their SSA benefits in meeting those needs and obtaining other services as needed. Managing individual checking accounts in accordance with SSA rules. Keeping written records of all financial transactions made for the consumer to support how the funds were spent and or saved on behalf of the consumer. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with disabilities and have excellent financial and communication skills. Being self-directed organized and experienced in issues relating to money management and disabilities are required. A four-year degree in business or a human services related field is preferred. The candidate must posses a valid driver s license and be able to travel throughout a 12 county region. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
