The Department of Plant and Soil Sciences Oklahoma State University invites applications for a full-time 11-month post-doctoral fellow position. The successful candidate will conduct field experiments and measure greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes (CO2 N2O and CH4) under different cropping systems to quantify complete GHG balance. The studies will deal with response of GHG fluxes to abiotic factors and land crop managements. The study will also focus on the overall carbon balance which involves measurements of both net uptake and emissions of CO2 with transparent and opaque chambers. Additionally the successful candidate may conduct lab experiments to identify controlling factors of GHG fluxes. The selected candidate needs to develop advanced chambers for the flux measurements at the beginning of the study. Some travel required. Travel budget provided. According to OSU guidelines post-doc appointments are made for one year or less. Reappointment for a total period of not more than three (3) years may be made. Required qualifications Ph.D in Agronomy Soil Science Agroecology Environmental Science or a related field. Experience with GHG flux measurements and modelling. Experience with development and use of advanced chambers for GHG flux measurements. Strong background in crop physiology. Valid driver s license. Strong quantitative and writing skills documented as publications in peer reviewed journals as a first author. Team working abilities. Excellent written and oral communications skills.
