DELL PRECISION M4800This machine is in perfect running condition and very good cosmetic condition (except for the cover that has some minor scratches). It has two RAID0 configured solid state drives that doubles the speed to a 880 MB s seq. read speed and a 774 MB s seq. write speed relative to other precisions with only one solid state drive. These drives are configured in a RAID0 setup so that they act as one 512 GB SSD drive. The data is interlaced between the 2 drives which effectively doubles the speed of the drives because they are written to concurrently. This has a hardware RAID controller (not software a very very big difference) something that is very rare to find on a laptop. Note I have been selling machines with solid state drive for a while now and know that Plextor and LiteOn (the same brand Dell uses for this model) are more reliable than most brands. Firstly they are made in Taiwan and not China. Most importantly these drives actually perform at the speeds in which they are advertised whereas most other brands fraudulently base their speed rating on data comprised of all zeros. So even when they claim a 500 MB s read speed their actual read speed when reading uncompressible data (real world data) sometimes is as low as 220 MB s.
