Simulation Technician

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Medicine in Oklahoma City has an opening for a full-time Simulation Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with faculty to support simulated learning and develop clinical scenarios using computerized mannequins. Provides technical expertise and operational support to include preparation maintenance and repair of computerized mannequins (software and hardware) task trainers and related multimedia peripherals. Manages programs adjusts and operates mannequins and AV systems during simulation. Troubleshoots technology problems before during and after simulation. Ensures functionality security and safety of equipment. Documents equipment repairs service and training. Coordinates with Faculty the development and evaluation of the clinical scenarios and fidelity improvement of the simulation. Provides instruction and orientation to simulation users in the use and care of simulation equipment and safety procedures. Assists with set-up break-down and cleanup of training rooms and equipment. Manages inventory stock and organizes supplies. Provides AV IT backup for department. Assists with tours of the facility. Maintains records of simulation activities including number of participants trained number of videotapes of simulation events and usage. Prepares reports for management. Requirements Associate s Degree or Vo-Tech Certification in Computer Science Computer Technology Health-related field or related field and 24 months experience in learning based health care technology AV systems or related field. Will accept 24 months related experience in lieu of the Associate s Degree for a total of 48 months experience. Skills Experience in AV systems and medical equipment with clinical background. Basic knowledge of simulation technology. Knowledge of safety procedures. Proficient with computer hardware and software video cameras and microphones. Must be detail oriented and organized. Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to handle stressful situations. Preference Experience in AV systems and medical equipment with clinical background particularly as an EMT Surgical Technician or in an intensive care unit setting.
