Click here for more information about Health Care Agency THE DEPARTMENT Juvenile Health Services (JHS) provides medical dental nursing and pharmaceutical services at a community standard of care for youth who reside in the County s five residential facilities operated by the Social Services and Probation Departments and contracts with hospitals for inpatient and specialty care. GENERAL DUTIES The Sr. Comprehensive Care Nurse I is responsible for the following Schedule assign coordinate evaluate and direct work of nursing staff Ensure 24 hour coverage to incarcerated youth or youth housed in a dependent care facility Provide supervision and guidance to between 6-10 direct reports Address nursing staff performance issues as they arise Assist in interviewing and selection of new employees Orient train evaluate nursing staff Ensure that nursing services are rendered according to established policies and procedures Confer with physicians and collaborate regarding medical care of JHS patients Supervise the maintenance and preparation of patients charts and medical records as well as compiling and evaluating records reports statistical information May assist in planning and implementation of special projects or participate in special assignments designed to enhance quality of nursing services Ensure adequate stock of medical supplies Provide professional nursing care to patients in a juvenile correctional facility or dependent care facility Conduct sick call perform intake screening assessments and triage Assist clinicians in providing treatment Respond to medical or psychiatric emergencies Review revise and implement Standardized Procedures when necessary Other duties as assigned HOW TO APPLY Please go to our website at www.ocgov.com jobs and submit your application online.
