Board Certified Behavior Analyst

The BCBA will work directly with students and staff to provide positive behavioral interventions and supports to increase student participation and engagement within the school community.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop materials and provide resources to administrators teachers and educational technicians in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) behavioral support and de-escalation techniques as well as other evidence-based methodologies related to serving the needs of students with behavioral challenges. conduct behavioral and functional assessments and develop positive individualized behavioral intervention plans in collaboration with educational and clinical school teams. Provide direct oversight and modeling to assist teaches educational technicians and clinical staff with development and implementation of behavior intervention plans ABA based academic programming and other appropriate program s for students with autism and or other disabilities that present behavior or learning challenges. Review and monitor trends in data related to student behavioral needs and academic ABA based interventions Work collaboratively with educational and clinical staff to understand functions of behaviors and assignment of appropriate interventions connected to hypothesized functions. Works collaboratively with school leadership to decrease crisis and high-risk behaviors Identify setting conditions and environmental manipulation s to reduce maladaptive behaviors Participate in IEP s as required Collaborate with special education teachers around development of academic and functional IEP goals. EDUCATION Bachelor s degree in Education Special Education Psychology Social Work or closely related field. CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED Board Certified Behavior Analyst Maintain a valid state driver s license. EXPERIENCE Student teaching in a self-contained classroom. Experience in teaching life skills and background that enables participation in the overall treatment program and to meet the emotional and developmental needs of the persons served. Persons with lived experience in the Mental Health and or Substance Abuse system are encouraged to apply. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Personal characteristics and temperament suitable for working with persons with special needs. Assists staff by having knowledge of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and using the TCI procedure effectively.
