Director of Youth Ministry

The mission of the Rush United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world and to be God s love to our neighbors in all places. As a minimum the part time director of youth ministries needs to demonstrate the following A personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and a heartfelt desire to serve youth in the United Methodist Church. A strong sense of calling to ministry with youth An ability to recruit train and work with adult volunteers Ability to plan organize lead and guide the various projects and activities related to youth ministry Willingness and ability to work cooperatively with others a positive and flexible outlook and willingness to share in problem solving Weekly worship attendance participation and occasional preaching leadership on Sunday mornings at Rush UMC Willingness and ability to be a supportive presence in the schools communities where youth are active and engaged Help to coordinate at least annual youth led worship services Willingness to support and encourage participation in United Methodist Youth activities and events in the district conference and beyond. Required Satisfactory background check Minimum age of 22 to satisfy the United Methodist Safe Sanctuary policy
