Bio. My name is Peter J Lidstone I am 58 years old. I am a proud former United States Marine and an even prouder father of a beautiful grown-up daughter living in Florida. Working on my feet for 10-12-hour days my entire working career...did me in. So early retirement and back to school. I have been a self-taught painter and sketch artist since I could hold a pencil (a family trait). during the spring semester of 2017 I was enrolled in a painting class called Painting I. I had always dabbled in oils but I fell head-over-heels for acrylics. In order to make this long story...longer the class assignments and superb instructor rekindled my passion for art specifically any canvas medium. These 12 initial works incited me to start Living the Dream The Diverse Dozen (my current portfolio title) are low quality and resolution pics for viewing only the finished print is a digital master from the original. These reproductions are high-resolution prints that would not only brighten up any wall but bring focus and interest to that space. All 12 are limited edition run of 1 120 personalized prints. This project was my fascinating close-up of a rare African flower. I used a glazing method on this project to give this piece some real depth.
