Academic Advisor II - Mathematics

Serves as an academic advisor for declared majors and minors in Mathematics helping students learn requirements monitoring their progress communicating with advisees to help them deal with issues that arise and completing and submitting graduation checks. Conducts advising related to lower-division mathematics courses by doing prerequisite checks and acting as the first line of communication about math courses with advisors on campus. Supports the Head and Associate Head of the Department of Mathematics by facilitating enrollment in lower-division courses placement testing scheduling and gathering data on student success. Coordinates various department-specific activities and functions. Teaches freshman orientation course (A& S 1111) each fall semester. Occasional travel for recruiting or networking. Work schedule other than 8 00 a.m. to 5 00 p.m. Monday to Friday as needed. Minimum Qualifications Master s Degree in Student Personnel Svcs Higher Education Admin Mathematics Statistics or a directly related field. One to three years of experience related to academic advising. Preferred Qualifications One year of experience directly related to OSU academic advising.
