Senior Clinical CounselorCollege Wellness Coordinator

Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs incumbent oversees all counseling for the CVHS coordinates the college wellness programs and initiatives and provides formal instruction within the curriculum. Provide counseling services to DVM and graduate students interns and residents support faculty and staff and assist with client grief counseling. Counseling services include individual couples and group counseling and on-call for crisis management situations. Work closely with the college and SAVMA Wellness Committees on initiatives projects and programs. Provide informal instruction including educational seminars for students and staff and faculty development seminars on recognizing and managing students with mental health issues. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. Ed.D. in Psychology or related field. Doctoral training in psychology or related field. Three to five years post-graduate work experience including substantial experience providing psychological counseling to clients. Experience providing individual couples and group counseling. Well-developed clinical and diagnostic skills capacity to provide the highest standard of care to a diverse clientele and experience with clinical supervision and effective outreach. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Oklahoma. Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Professional Counselor. Must possess strong interpersonal skills able to interact comfortably and effectively with students and employees. Must be able to interact effectively with members of student support units and contribute in a dynamic team environment that adheres to process-oriented results driven strategies. A positive can-do attitude along with a professional appearance and demeanor should be modeled at all times. Must have a willingness to continually self-initiate learning to remain proficient. Should be able to quickly grasp and apply new skills and methods. Must be customer service driven with ability to work and respond effectively to diverse audiences. Must possess strong organizational skills as well as a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment. Must be able to develop and deliver oral presentations and written materials for a variety of audiences and multiple venues. Must be flexible innovative and self-motivated. Must possess strong verbal communication skills to include individual interaction and group presentation. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and be proficient in information technology. Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential. Preferred Qualifications Post graduate work experience in a higher education setting particularly veterinary medicine. Formal and informal teaching and presentation experience. Experience in prevention and treatment of substance abuse. Experience in programs for the advancement of diversity and inclusion.
