Enterprise Systems Administrator II

The Enterprise Systems Administrator position has responsibility for server administration application administration and data storage administration in the OSU Information Technology Server Administration Department. This position provides a variety of lead administrative analyst tasks related to the administration and management of services such as Windows Server 2008R2 2012 VMWare ESXi VMWare Horizon View Dell Compellent Brocade Fiber switches Desire2Learn Brightspace LMS Tivoli Provisioning Manager for OS Deployment Alertus and Dell OME. This position will consult with end users managers vendors and other individuals from Information Technology Services (IT) as well as the University. The individual will participate in incident management change management security management and IT Service management processes and procedures. The Server Administration area has responsibilities for technical infrastructure supporting the Oklahoma State University System as well as the A& M institutions under the Oklahoma A& M Board of Regents. The position is expected to work with moderate supervision and have no direct reports. This position will manage more than 1 service independently within the environment. These services are available at the OSU Stillwater campus the other 4 branch campuses and possibly the A& M institutions. The administrator has the responsibility to maintain sufficient knowledge and skills to improve the services being provided as well as keep up with the day-to-day operations of the services. The Enterprise Systems Administrator follows the lead of senior systems administrators. Required to be in an on-call stand-by status for after hours and weekend emergencies on a rotating basis. Some travel as required to work with other university campuses. Due to communication expectations of the position the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent s salary includes additional compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device. Position will work with electronic devices which presents the potential of electrical shock. OSU Tulsa is the primary assignment location. Required qualifications High School GED and five years of system administration experience. Additional education may be substituted for experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience maintaining Linux or Windows based servers in a production environment. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Preferred qualifications Bachelor s degree in MSIS Computer Science or related field. 3 years of systems administration experience. Professional Certification (MCSE RHCE OCP CLP PMP or others approved by Management in advance). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
