Description of Work Unit - The College of Human Sciences Research and Graduate Studies (R& GS) office has administrative responsibility for all aspects of extramural research support for three academic departments a school and several centers and labs within the College of Human Sciences. R& GS administers approximately 90 annual awards and 7.5 million in annual sponsored research. R& GS is a productive and service-oriented administrative unit and the R& GS staff collectively manage the pre- and post-award activities for a diverse portfolio of sponsoring agencies (nearly 40 different agencies). Position Summary The post-award Grant Manager provides post-award sponsored research administration and works under the guidance of the R& GS Manager of Research Services. This position involves administering and monitoring complex and diverse contract and grant awards including negotiating contracts preparing award documents and managing compliance regulations terms and conditions financial management and reporting sub award subcontract administration and other tasks associated with post-award sponsored research activities and services. This assignment is multifaceted extremely complex and requires in-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning human research animal research and financial conflict of interest. Activities will require interacting directly with Principal Investigators (PIs) college and campus administrators and sponsors agencies to ensure compliance with University and funding agency rules regulations policies and guidelines. General Responsibilities Provide post-award research administration activities during the lifecycle of sponsored projects. Work with faculty and staff to ensure compliance on sponsored projects. Provide training and education to College faculty staff and students on pertinent compliance topics consult and serve as a resource person on compliance matters. Prepare reports to aid in efficient management of sponsored program activities. Travel to OSU s Tulsa campus may be required. Standing and or walking lifting sitting pushing pulling up to 25 pounds is sometimes required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor s Degree. Three or more years of experience in research administration (grants contracts federal and non-federal sponsors agencies program budgetary regulatory and compliance monitoring). Knowledge of funding agencies and their programs. Knowledge of regulations that govern federal research funding and related areas of regulatory compliance. Demonstrated organizational skills. Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Demonstrated time management skills ability to manage multiple assignments with tight concurrent deadlines and with frequent interruptions. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in collegial supportive manner with faculty and staff including the ability to interact effectively in a culturally and ethnically diverse community. Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook Excel Word Access PowerPoint) and internet. Proficient with electronic grants management systems (i.e. grants.gov NIH eRA Commons NSF Fastlane ProposalCentral etc.) and experience with enterprise research administration systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Compliance management business accounting or related field. Experience with Ellucian s Banner Finance. Designation of Certified Research Administrator (CRA) Certified Pre-Award Administrator (CPRA) or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA).
